Neel is a founding member of So Far.  He has played in bands in Europe and Texas before he began playing in So Far.  Neel grew up in a military family and lived in Texas, Nebraska, Massachusetts, Montana, Hong Kong, Athens Greece and Naples Italy.  He met his wife, Kathie, in Montana where they had three children.  After relocating from Missoula Montana to Fort Worth, Neel and Kathie joined Davis Memorial United Methodist Church in North Richland Hills.  Neel and Ron Bachman started a praise band which eventually became So Far, with the addition of new members Layne Price, Steve Barber and Stayton PettyJohn.
